An at-home smart pill device that tracks medication consumption.

My side project, a smart pill dispenser built around the people who actually use it.
Rita is my at-home smart pill dispenser, a project I co-founded to help people stay on top of their medication without the stress or the clinical feel of most existing devices. I led product strategy, branding, and product design from the start. The goal was to create something that felt like it belonged in a home, not a hospital. Warm, approachable, and designed around the people who actually use it, not just the patient. Rita uses fingerprint recognition to make sure the right person gets the right medication, supports multiple users from one device, and connects to an app so carers can check in remotely. Refillable Halo cartridges keep things sustainable, reducing single-use plastic without making refills a hassle.

Compassionate, connected, and sustainable health design.
Rita is still evolving, and that's intentional. The product is designed to grow with new cartridges, new integrations, and new use cases, without making the original device obsolete. Winning Young Designer of the Year from The Plastics Industry was a meaningful moment, particularly because the award recognised the circular design principles behind it rather than just the aesthetics. What drives the project is a simple belief: health tech doesn't have to feel clinical. It can be warm, well-designed, and genuinely helpful and still be taken seriously.
